One person was killed and several others were injured in a residential fire late Friday night in Alhambra.

Fire units from Alhambra and neighboring agencies were dispatched at 10:54 pm on December 19, 2025, to the 1800 block of South Curtis Avenue following reports of a structure fire with people trapped inside. Callers reported one person trapped in the front home and two patients with burn injuries located in a back house on the property.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and fire coming from a one-story, single-family residence, along with multiple victims suffering from burn injuries. Crews immediately shifted into rescue operations upon arrival.
Authorities said four adults lived on the property, two in the front house and two in the back house. All injured patients were transported to local hospitals with varying degrees of injuries. One occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
