This annual event invites the public to experience the rich history, art, and architecture of early Los Angeles through a day of exploration and family fun.
Among the highlights is the rare opportunity to tour the historic Fenyes Mansion, located on the grounds of the Pasadena Museum of History. Open to the public for free on just a few select days each year, the mansion offers a glimpse into Pasadena’s gilded age elegance. In addition to the mansion tour, visitors can enjoy kid-friendly crafts with no age limits, making it a great stop for families.
Free shuttles will connect all six participating museums, which include:
- The Gamble House
- Heritage Square Museum
- Los Angeles Police Museum
- Lummis Home
- Pasadena Museum of History
- South Pasadena Historical Museum
Each site offers its own unique take on the region’s cultural heritage, from architectural landmarks to local law enforcement history. With hands-on activities, art exhibits, and historical presentations, MOTA Day is a celebration of the diverse stories that have shaped the Arroyo Seco area.
Whether you visit one museum or all six, MOTA Day promises an enriching and entertaining afternoon for all ages.
