If you haven’t quite saved up $2,000 to hit Thailand’s Full Moon Festival, and don’t feel like dealing with the crowds and parking hassles of a rave in the Inland Empire, just head down to Monterey Park’s Electric Park, where locals pack the kids and grandparents into the car, kick off their shoes, and spend the day moving to dance music in Barnes Park.

This free annual festival takes place every October and is a full-day affair with outdoor games, two stages of house music, and food trucks. One stage is even set up behind the net on the tennis court as an alcohol-only area. On the larger main stage’s grassy lawn, people bring picnic blankets and beach chairs and chill through the evening.
Young and old, date-nighters, ravers, and house music aficionados all get into the groove, with plenty of room to bounce around, losing themselves in the laser lights and deep bass beats.
The photos below barely capture the real feel of it all, you’ve got to be there to experience the energy for yourself. Make sure to put it on your calendar for next year.
