Monterey Park newly elected Councilmembers assumed their office on On April 1, 2020.

In a meeting held via teleconference, outgoing Councilmembers, Mitchell Ing, Stephen Lam and Teresa Real Sebastian, gave their outgoing addresses and stepped down from the virtual dais as their terms of offices came to a close.
At the same meeting, newly elected Councilmembers, Yvonne Yiu, Fred Sornoso and Henry Lo, took their oaths and assumed their offices.
