Monterey Park City Council Welcomes New Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem

On December 10, 2024, the Monterey Park City Council held a reorganization meeting and installed Vinh T. Ngo as Mayor and Elizabeth Yang as Mayor Pro Tem.

Also featured at the meeting was a farewell to outgoing Councilmember Yvonne Yiu, an outgoing address by Mayor Thomas Wong, and the oaths for returning Councilmembers Henry Lo and Jose Sanchez. A reception with light refreshments followed.

The Monterey Park City Council rotates the mayorship every 9½ months to allow all councilmembers an opportunity to serve in that position.
