National Library Week, celebrated from April 6 to 12, 2025, is a time to recognize the invaluable role libraries play in shaping thriving communities, and the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library is inviting everyone to join in the festivities.
Throughout National Library Week, the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library will offer a variety of engaging activities designed to celebrate the library’s role as a learning and community space. Whether you’re seeking educational resources, creative outlets, or simply a place to connect with others, the library has something for everyone.
Special Events and Activities
- Borrower of the Day:
From April 7 to 12, one lucky library user will be chosen each day to win a mug featuring the new library card designs, along with other library-themed swag. - Library Bingo and Book Scavenger Hunt:
Adults and teens can complete a Library Bingo Bookmark, while children can participate in the Book Bingo Scavenger Hunt. Both activities offer participants a chance to win a free book. - Zine and Comic Creation:
On Wednesday, April 9, at 3:00 pm, kids of all ages are invited to get creative and make their own Zines and Comics in the Storytime Room. This hands-on event is sure to inspire young imaginations.
In addition to these special events, the library offers a wide range of year-round services, including free Wi-Fi, teen volunteer opportunities, crafting events, storytimes, tech help, English classes for adults, and much more.
First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association. It honors libraries across the country and the many ways they serve their communities.
