The Monrovia Garden Club celebrated the community’s most impressive gardens during its annual Garden Awards event on May 27 at First Presbyterian Church.

The evening began with a social hour at 6:00 pm, followed by a 6:30 pm program that featured awards presentations, a video tour of winning gardens, and remarks highlighting the beauty and dedication behind local landscapes.
Among the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the 2025 Garden Awards, recognizing outstanding home gardens across several experience levels. Ian and Bernice Fluerty took home top honors in the Novice Section, while Darren and Loanda Moy were named winners in the Intermediate Section. Graeme and Dorothy Paff received accolades in the Open Section, and Keith and Anicia Lydiate were celebrated as the Masters Section winners.
In a show of continued community support, the club also donated $500 to the Altadena Green, furthering its mission to promote sustainability and green initiatives in the region.
Attendees were treated to a video tour of the winning gardens, and a slideshow showcasing the stunning yards is now available to view online.
With strong community participation and outstanding entries, club members say 2025 is already shaping up to be another standout year for gardening excellence in Monrovia.
