Mansionization of Pasadena
I attended a recent meeting of the proposed changes that the City is thinking of implementing in the near future regarding “mansionization” of our neighborhoods.

The city of Pasadena Planning and Community Development office is holding several meetings around town to receive suggestions, ideas and thoughts regarding size and/or style of new homes being built in their neighborhoods.
Below are the remaining dates, and a chart outlining the total process. I encourage those that are concerned about the neighborhoods and new construction that they attend the meetings to learn and to voice their personal concerns.

While I am no fan of mansionization, The anti mansionization codes generally lead to EVEN worse neighborhoods and architecture in that they enforce endless miles of mediocre remodels. Without them, both the excellent and horrid are possible and that contrast, along with the trdition of Artistic freedom is what Pasadena once was Known for.
