A man was stabbed Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 6, near the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Spruce Street, prompting a police response and a temporary lockdown at a nearby school, authorities said.

According to the Alhambra Police Department, the department’s Communication Center received a call at approximately 2:00 pm reporting the stabbing. The suspect is described as a Hispanic adult male wearing all black clothing. Police said the suspect fled the area before officers arrived.
As a precaution, a nearby school was placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of students and staff. Authorities confirmed that no students, teachers, or parents were involved in the incident, and no injuries were reported at the school. The lockdown was implemented solely as a safety measure.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. Police continue to search the surrounding area for the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.
