The storm has brought heavy rain and strong winds, prompting county officials to take action to protect residents and expedite recovery efforts.
“This action ensures the County can quickly coordinate resources, protect residents, and accelerate recovery efforts,” Solis said in a statement.
A special Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 30, to ratify the local emergency proclamation. Ratification will allow the County to formally request and receive state and federal assistance. Additionally, Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency for Los Angeles County, mobilizing extra state resources to support local response and recovery efforts.
County departments are actively monitoring storm conditions, deploying resources, and preparing to respond to emergencies as needed. Residents are urged to stay informed, follow official guidance, and take precautions to protect themselves and their families.
