Supervisor Kathryn Barger shared, “I’ve heard from countless Altadena residents that they can’t wait to be back in their community.”
The reopening celebration included the debut of a brand-new playground, a renovated gym and courts from the L.A. Clippers Foundation, and the unveiling of Dodgers Dreamfields 66 and 67—two new baseball fields made possible through a partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. Opening day also featured baseball clinics and a community picnic.
Despite rainy weather moving festivities indoors, spirits were high. Over 2,000 volunteers contributed by planting trees and painting murals in preparation for the big day.
With support from the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks & Recreation, the Altadena Library District, and the L.A. County Aging & Disabilities Department, Loma Alta Park is once again a thriving hub of activity—and the summer pop-up bike park is just around the corner.
