The upcoming “Unite and Resist” rally, scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Sierra Madre, has announced key political leaders to its speaker lineup. Rep. Judy Chu, State Senator Sasha Renee Perez, and a representative from State Assemblyman John Harabedian’s office will be among those addressing the crowd.

The rally, taking place at Kersting Court from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, is organized in honor of International Women’s Day and aims to rally support for women’s rights, bodily autonomy, and the protection of personal freedoms. Open to all, the event will also highlight growing concerns about authoritarianism, particularly in light of recent political developments involving figures such as the current President and Elon Musk.
Rep. Judy Chu, a long-time advocate for social justice and equality, State Senator Sasha Renee Perez, known for her unwavering commitment to advocating for marginalized communities and advancing progressive policies. and a representative from State Assemblyman John Harabedian’s office, will speak during a special session of speeches from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
Held at Kersting Court, located at the northwest corner of Sierra Madre Blvd. and Baldwin Ave., the rally will provide an opportunity for the community to unite in support of democracy, social justice, and the protection of personal freedoms. Speakers will address concerns over the perceived rise of authoritarianism while honoring women’s contributions and advocating for stronger protections of their rights.
“This is not just about International Women’s Day—it’s about standing together in defense of our shared future,” said Lauren Pressman, one of the event’s organizers. “We’re thrilled to have these prominent leaders join us in this fight. Their voices will amplify the call for change.”
The rally will also serve as an opportunity for residents of Sierra Madre and neighboring areas to unite and make their voices heard in the ongoing fight for equality. The event will take place rain or shine. “We look forward to seeing everyone there,” Pressman added.
