Pasadena is preparing for a powerful week of community solidarity, reflection, and action as it hosts United Against Hate Week (UAHW) from October 19 to 25, 2025. In partnership with the Western Justice Center and the Pasadena Human Relations Commission, the City invites residents to come together in a collective stand against hatred, discrimination, and division.

Now in its fourth year, Pasadena’s United Against Hate Week is part of the broader “LA vs. Hate” initiative, a Los Angeles County-wide campaign that encourages communities to foster inclusivity and advance equity.
Walk to Freedom: A Highlight of the Week
The week’s signature event, Walk to Freedom, will take place on Saturday, October 25, at Day One (175 North Euclid Avenue, Pasadena).
The schedule is as follows:
- 8:30 am – Community Gathering with light refreshments
- 9:30–11:00 am – Walk to Freedom
- 11:00 am – Closing Ceremony and Community Testimonial on Education
- 11:30 am – Public Meeting of the California Commission on the State of Hate (Public comments welcome)
The Walk is free and open to all, offering a meaningful opportunity for the community to stand united in support of a more inclusive and respectful future.

Volunteer as a Community Peacekeeper
To help ensure a safe and welcoming environment during the Walk to Freedom, organizers are seeking Community Peacekeeper volunteers. These volunteers will support event logistics, promote safety, and help uphold a peaceful atmosphere throughout the event.
Training is provided by CLUE (Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice) through a one-hour virtual session on October 15.
Training includes:
- De-escalation techniques and communication strategies
- Community peacekeeping best practices
- Scenario-based learning
- Ongoing skill development resources
Training Schedule (October 15):
- Youth Training (Middle school to college): 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- Adult Training (All community members): 6:30 – 7:30 pm
