Just in time for the Thanksgiving season, non-profit and for-profit organizations donated turkeys.

- John J. Kennedy‘s Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway took place Saturday, November 21, 2020. 75 volunteers from Pasadena were on hand, including Northwest Ambassadors, Pasadena Marines, Saint Francis High school, Pasadena High School football Team, Parks and Recreation staff, Pasadena Police Department, and Pasadena Fire Department. This year’s sponsors purchased 830 turkeys and 600 hams for deserving families in Pasadena.
- To mark the 50th Anniversary of Dinner In The Park, a holiday tradition, Union Station Homeless Services served Thanksgiving meals a week before the holiday by distributing Thanksgiving “All the Fixings” Meal Boxes to clients who have access to a kitchen and wanted to cook their own meal at home for the holidays.
- Staff and volunteers from the Pasadena Senior Center delivered more than 250 free, traditional Thanksgiving meals with all the trimmings to people 65 and older on a first-requested, first-served basis. The meals were delivered on Wednesday, Nov. 25, where recipients were encouraged to refrigerate the them and reheat them on Thanksgiving Day. The meals were funded by a special $5,000 gift from a donor who wished to remain anonymous to the public.
- Ralphs Grocery Company and Food 4 Less joined dignitaries from the City of Pasadena for its annual Operation Gobble Gobble on Saturday, November 21, where turkeys and all the fixings were donated to 500 families. At the socially distanced drive-through event, volunteers passed out meals to recipients in cars driving through City Hall.
- You didn’t have to be a resident of Monterey Park to take advantage of this event. Anyone in need of a delicious Thanksgiving dinner joined the American Legion Post 397 on Thanksgiving Day for a meal of thanks on them! Turkey and all the traditional trimmings were available. Attendees had the meat as a to-go or enjoyed it in the patio area.
