Uber Technologies, Inc. and Cruise, two companies revolutionizing transportation, announced a multiyear strategic partnership to bring Cruise autonomous vehicles to the Uber platform.
By News Desk
The companies plan to launch the partnership next year with a dedicated number of Chevy Bolt-based autonomous vehicles. When an Uber rider requests a ride on the Uber app next year, they may be presented with the option to have that trip fulfilled by a Cruise autonomous vehicle… with no driver.
Marc Whitten, CEO of Cruise, explained, “We are excited to partner with Uber to bring the benefits of safe, reliable, autonomous driving to even more people, unlocking a new era of urban mobility.”
Dara Khosrowshahi, Uber CEO, said “We’re thrilled to partner with Cruise and look forward to launching next year.”

Just another lame attempt to slim down the workforce. Who would voluntarily choose an Uber with no driver? People purposely boycott self-checkout at the grocery store because they want to keep humans employed. We are talking about human lives here. Are you willing to put yours at risk for the novelty of being in an autonomous vehicle?
