Straight No Chaser, the RIAA-Certified Gold a cappella group, will head from their final three-month tour date straight to Pasadena to perform on the Enjoy Illinois float in the 2024 Rose Parade.
Known for their captivating performances, Straight No Chaser will join the Illinois Office of Tourism in showcasing the state’s rich musical heritage, featuring a diverse array of musical styles. From blues and jazz to country and rock, Illinois set the stage for musical innovation, and the Enjoy Illinois float aims to highlight the state’s contribution to the world of music.
Back to the Parade for the second time, Enjoy Illinois is ready to dazzle the world with its vibrant floral display, and this year’s float theme, “Illinois: The Middle of Beats & Blues,” promises to turn the parade route into a musical extravaganza. The performance is a tribute to U.S. Route 66, which connects Chicago to the Pacific coast, including the dazzling stretch along the Rose Parade route on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.
“We are so proud and beyond excited to be performing on the Enjoy Illinois float in the 2024 Rose Parade,” said Straight No Chaser member Randy Stine, who was born and raised in Illinois. “Like so many people around the country, we grew up watching the parade every New Year’s Day. What a dream come true it is to be a part of such an iconic event.”
Initially formed at Indiana University, Straight No Chaser emerged at the forefront of the modern-day a cappella movement and has since sold more than three million albums worldwide, garnered more than a billion streams on Pandora alone, and sold more than 1.5 million concert tickets worldwide. This fall, the group performed in more than 50 cities across the U.S. with multiple sold out shows, including a record-breaking run in Indianapolis. The group is currently on their “Sleighin’ It Tour,” a three-month long U.S. trek. Last month, the group released “Stocking Stuffer,” their latest EP of holiday originals and favorites.
