Have you ever wondered what you should do with the abundance of fruits and vegetables that you have grown in your backyard?
By Claire Ghantous
There is so much more that you are able to do aside from simply adding them to your meals. There are resources that are available for you to tap into and sell, trade, or donate all of your surplus home-grown produce.
Many people love to grow their own fruits and vegetables from their backyard, but sometimes there are “leftovers” that we don’t want. In this case, there are two websites available for you to sign up for to exchange your abundance of produce. These resources are a great way for you to easily get rid of your produce without having to throw them out:
– RipeNearMe
At RipeNearMe, you are able to register to trade, buy, and sell within your local community.
– Food Forward
At Food Forward, you can connect with the team to donate your extra produce to those in need. According to their website, they donate the food to people experiencing food insecurity. 100% of the produce they receive gets sent to the hunger relief agencies across Southern California.
