      Resistance and Resilience weekFriday, Jan. 20

      – 9:00 am – 10:00 am: PUSD Immigrant Protection Forum

      Join in discussing the Pasadena Unified School District Safe Zones for Students Resolution (@ Du-par’s).

      – 10:00 am – 11:00 am: Loving Kindness Meditation and Sacred Chanting – Pasadena

      Strengthen your spirit to remain grounded, fierce, and effective for your social justice efforts (@ Throop!).

      – 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm: Poems and Short Narratives

      Your reaction to current political events – how you deal with this (@ Caltech bookstore lounge or outside area weather permitting).

      – More?: GOP to slash workers’ pay they don’t like to $1

      The House of Representatives just revived an extreme measure to slash the salaries of specific federal employees they don’t like. Members of Congress will now be able to add amendments that lower individual workers’ pay to just $1 per year (click here) (@ Self).

       

      Women's march pasadenaSaturday, Jan. 21

      – 8:00 am – 9:00 am: Women’s Rally Pasadena

      From Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles to Pasadena, women are uniting at marches and rallies to stand together in solidarity for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families (@ Pasadena City Hall).

      – 10:00 am – 4:00 pm: Women’s March Los Angeles

      The march is open to everyone who stands for human rights, civil liberties, and compassion for our shared humanity (@ Pershing Square/ 5th and Hill).

      – 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm: After L.A. Women’s March: Reiki & Recharge

      Free for marchers. If you’re marching in the Women’s March, come afterward and get recharged with a mini massage and Reiki energy (@ Yogala Studios).

      – 4:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Songs of Hope and Freedom

      The Holman Choir will perform “Songs of Hope and Freedom” in Pasadena (@ First United Methodist Church).
