Many of us in PUSD have had the bounty of knowing Marvin Hatchett, the longtime security officer and musical director for the district’s former Wilson Middle School, who is continuing to serve in those roles for PUSD’s Pasadena Adult Living Skills (PALS), Center for Independent Study (CIS) and Rose City High School at the former Wilson site.

      By Scott Phelps

Marvin has been featured on NBC4 – Los Angeles

for his dedication to the students and for his talent. You may remember one of his amazing musical shows that the students put on in years past. If you have met him, you know of his huge heart, his unmatched character and all that he has given to the students over the decades.

The engine in Marvin’s old car has lost a cylinder, and he needs to put in a used engine to replace the current one. He has contacted a mechanic, and this will cost about $3,000.  In addition, on Friday September 20th, someone rear-ended Marvin in a hit and run, damaging the back of the car and sending Marvin to the hospital. He suffered whiplash and still has pain, so he may have medical bills in addition to his car issues.

This is the time when we all can give back to Marvin!  So I organized a GoFundMe link.

Your donations to him are gifts and are NOT tax deductible.
