As Halloween events and gatherings return in full swing, the Pasadena Public Health Department is encouraging residents to stay healthy while celebrating.

Protect Yourself and Others:
- Get Vaccinated: Everyone 6 months and older is encouraged to receive the updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines before attending Halloween events.
- Wear the Right Mask: Costume masks do not offer protection against viruses. If you’re in a crowded or indoor setting, opt for a well-fitting protective face mask.
- Stay Home if Sick: Anyone feeling unwell or recently exposed to COVID-19 should avoid attending gatherings.
Safe Costumes and Hygiene
- Use Non-Toxic Makeup: Always choose safe, skin-friendly makeup and avoid applying it near the eyes or mouth unless specifically approved.
- Wash Hands Often: Use soap and water or hand sanitizer before eating and after trick-or-treating.
- Contact Lenses: Only wear decorative contact lenses if they’re prescribed by an eye care professional following an exam.
The Health Department hopes these precautions will help all Pasadena residents enjoy a fun and healthy Halloween.
