Celebrate National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day this Saturday by dropping-off your unwanted, unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications at your local police department or at a safe-drop off location near you!

The Pasadena Police Department, Day One, and local public health & safety advocates remind you not to keep unused prescription drugs at home, flush or throw them away in the trash or drain where they are a risk to children, teens, pets, and the environment.

      Stats

Prescription drug misuse is when someone takes a prescription drug in a way that is different than how it was prescribed. About 70% of abused prescription drugs come from family and friends. Every year in LA County, prescription drug misuse is responsible for:

      • 400 deaths
      • 9,000 emergency room visits
      • 14,500
      • 2,500 addiction treatment admissions
