As we face the Coronavirus epidemic, it is important to support the front lines of the battle against COVID-19.

      By News Desk

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has raised money to deliver food to Exer Urgent Care in East Pasadena and has arranged for local restaurants to provide take-out for Critical Care Workers assisting COVID-19 patients at Huntington Hospital.

At the beginning of April, Pasadena Sandwich Company and Raffi’s Catering and Banquet, both in East Pasadena, began delivering food to Exer Urgent Care. Exer works with Huntington Hospital to relieve the strain on emergency room personnel. Food for First responders will begin the take-out program for Huntington Hospital’s critical care workers in partnership with six more restaurants:

      • Parkway Grill
      • Mijares Mexican Restaurant
      • Mi Piace
      • Green Street Restaurant
      • El Portal Mexican Restaurant
      • Bistro 45

Pasadena Chamber of Commerce CEO, Paul Little, said:

People and organizations in the Pasadena area are incredibly generous. They want to provide help and support for the people doing the front line work and this was one way they could help. They also want to support our local restaurants as they struggle to remain open. We’re very grateful to all the donors and will continue the effort until the Safer at Home orders are lifted and our critical care workers and first responders are no longer dealing with Coronavirus patients.

It is simple for anyone to support the effort: Donate at pasadenayouthworks.org/node/25 or visit pasadenayouthworks.org and click on the link to donate to Food for First Responders. People can also send checks to Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Foundation at 44 North Mentor Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91106.

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Chamber will continue this effort until the COVID-19 Coronavirus Safer at Home orders are lifted.

The Pasadena Chamber purchases freshly prepared meals locally for first responders and critical care providers. Donations are tax deductible and 100% of funds donated will help support those who are keeping us safe and healthy during the crisis.
