Silent Sundays Series: Our Hospitality at San Gabriel Mission Playhouse

Silent Sundays Series: Our Hospitality at San Gabriel Mission Playhouse

Silent Sundays at the Mission Playhouse returns Sunday afternoon, September 9th at 2:30pm with 1923’s Our Hospitality directed by and starring Buster Keaton.

Filmed near Lake Tahoe and featuring beautiful cinematography, Our Hospitality involved various members of the Keaton clan. His father Joe Keaton portrayed the train engineer, his on screen leading lady Virginia was his real life love, Natalie, and the baby in the film was played by his son, Buster Keaton Jr.

Accompanying the film on the Playhouse’s 1924 Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ is American Theatre Organ Society’s Organist of the Year (2012) Mark Herman.

The series continues with The Phantom of the Opera (1925) starring Lon Chaney on October 28th, Ella Cinders (1926) on January 27th, Alfred Hitchcock’s Blackmail (1929) on April 14th, and The Black Pirate (1926) on June 2nd.

Buy your subscription by September 6th and see the series for the special price of $45! Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at door, discounts for groups of 10+. Tickets purchased online or over the phone are subject to additional fees and charges. Purchase tickets in person by visiting the Playhouse Box Office 12pm-5pm Tuesdays/Thursdays.
