Aspiring poets and poetry lovers alike are invited to an exciting evening of creative expression at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library.

The evening will feature readings from three of the collection’s contributing poets: Consuelo G. Flores, Andrea Goyan, and Elizabeth Wong, a Monterey Park resident. These talented poets will share selections from the collection, showcasing the work of An Illegal Feast, a book that has been hailed as “a masterful display of talent and creativity.” Described as a feast for the senses, the collection “will have you salivating over every piece… satisfied yet always craving more,” according to reviewers. The collection was published in June 2023 by Broadstone Books and is available for purchase on their website.

Following the readings, attendees will be invited to participate in a hands-on poetry session. Using simple collaborative writing techniques developed by the collection’s founder, E. E. King, attendees will have the chance to create their own poems. Whether you’re an experienced poet or a complete beginner, the event welcomes all skill levels, no prior poetry experience required.
