The Pasadena Public Library invites the community to a special presentation on Saturday, November 8, at 11:00 am at the Lamanda Park Branch.

The program will explore the deep roots of California’s Native cultures and their resilience through centuries of change.

The event will feature Richard Quiroga, Cultural Director of the Rumsen Ohlone Indigenous Embrace nonprofit organization, who will share stories, history, and insights into how colonization reshaped Indigenous life. Quiroga will also discuss ongoing efforts to preserve Native languages, ceremonies, and land-based knowledge that continue to thrive today.

Attendees are invited to learn, reflect, and honor the original stewards of this land while gaining a deeper understanding of the enduring legacy of California’s Native peoples.
