Old Pasadena Day of the Dead Weekend returns for a fourth year, featuring The Tour of Altars inside 20 businesses and the evening Salsa on the Alley dance party!
On Friday, November 2, 6:00-8:30pm, head to the outdoor historic alley Big Bang Theory Way for an evening of salsa and rhythm. Curated by La Junta and featuring live music by Cuba Rumba, the evening features a salsa dance exhibition and instruction to get everyone warmed up for open dancing with Cuba Rumba, which performs salsa and a wide variety of other rhythms.
The evening also features free calaveras/calacas face painting in the tradition of Dia de los Muertos and a Community Altar that allows the public to leave remembrances of passed loved ones.
The Tour of Altars takes place Friday-Sunday, November 2-4. Take a self-guided tour of 20+ altars in businesses throughout Old Pasadena. Maps will be available at the Salsa Party and in all altar locations.
Enjoy free marimba music and free calavera face painting on Mercantile Place at Raymond Avenue Nov 3-4, 1:00-4:00pm.
