      Join Armory artist-in-residence iris yirei hu for an hour of close looking and dialogue in the current exhibition, my hands are monsters who believe in magic.

      Participants will spend time with three different works on view. iris will facilitate the discussion using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), an open-ended and inclusive way of seeing, thinking, and learning more deeply. Enjoy light refreshments and specialty baked goods from Bad Ash Bakes.

      A former museum educator, iris has worked with public and private K-12 school teachers all over the country through MOCA’s renowned partnership program, Contemporary Art Start, for ten years. Additionally, she has given public tours at MOCA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The J. Paul Getty Museum, and has lectured extensively about her work in universities across the country. She enjoys working with all age groups, and has taught university courses in studio art at Otis College of Art & Design, CalArts, UC Riverside, and CSU Dominguez Hills.
