Marking their 40th Anniversary, Altadena Baptist Church’s Black History event is scheduled for Sunday, February 18th at 5:00 pm.
Aligning with the 2024 National African American History’s theme, ABC’s Black History focus is Americans and the Arts in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, and music.
The event will include an Art Gallery of student artwork from local schools curated by La Monte Westmoreland, a Visual Artist and retired educator. Westmoreland’s career focus combined painting, collage and assemblage to create artwork.
The Black History Speaker is Charmaine Jefferson, Chair of the CalArts Board of Trustees, She’s Principal & Service Provider for Kélan Resources which integrates art, history, culture, inclusion and diversity into the DNA of education, relative to Carter G. Woodson, the Father of Black History, and others.
