On June 6, PBS SoCal and KCET, Southern California’s flagship PBS stations, announced 26 nominations for the 75th Annual Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards presented by the Television Academy.

The Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards honor locally produced programs in a variety of categories. The ceremony will take place on Sat., July 22 at the Four Seasons Hotel Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, hosted by award-winning journalist Michaela Pereira.
Additional nominations went to PBS SoCal and KCET content that included environmental series Earth Focus and Off the Beaten Path, regional history series Lost LA, and the documentaries Can We All Get Along? and Duchamp Comes to Pasadena.
“Can We All Get Along? The Segregation of John Muir High School” documentary (Pablo Miralles, Director, Producer, Writer; Clark Harris, Editor, Writer; Michelle Merker, Executive Producer) was nominated under the “Crime & Social Issues” category.
Director Pablo Miralles said to Colorado Boulevard:
This film was started on a shoestring and required two crowdfunding campaigns to be made. In the end, I will always see this as a community production and not mine alone.”
