Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA) has announced that long-time member Dotty Ewing will serve as President of the organization for 2025–26. Ewing, who has held numerous leadership roles within PSHA, most recently served as Benefit Chair for the 59th Pasadena Showcase House of Design in 2024, the organization’s annual and sole fundraiser.

      By News Desk

“Now that I helped raise our revenues in that role, I am honored to lead the organization as we allocate our support and goodwill for local music and arts programs throughout the community,” Dotty Ewing said.

As President, Ewing will oversee PSHA’s four music programs: Music Mobile™, Youth Concert, Instrumental Competition, and a newly established program underwriting an LA Philharmonic Resident Fellow, designed to train exceptionally talented young symphonic musicians. She will also manage the Gifts and Grants program, which distributes hundreds of thousands of dollars to local nonprofits supporting music and arts initiatives.

Reflecting on PSHA’s impact, Ewing noted, “To date we have been able to contribute more than $27 million to our community for these programs, and we are all very excited about continuing our community outreach.” She credited the organization’s volunteers for their dedication and expertise, noting that their efforts make the organization’s achievements possible.

Among her many responsibilities, Ewing will oversee the team planning the 2026 Pasadena Showcase House of Design, set to open in April. Her first task as President involved leading the search for the next Showcase House property, which has now been secured. An official announcement will be released in mid-November. “We have an incredible team leading this fundraising effort, and we know our visitors will enjoy visiting this historic property,” she said.

Ewing joined PSHA in 2017, drawn to the organization by a socially active member. She previously had a successful career in marketing for cable television networks and was recognized as Woman of the Year by the Southern California Chapter of Women in Cable and Telecommunications. Since joining PSHA, she has held roles including Membership Chair—resulting in a 50 percent increase in membership—and contributed significantly to the Public Relations/Marketing Committee.

Beyond PSHA, Ewing has been active in other volunteer organizations, including the UNICEF Board of Directors and the Shakespeare Club of Pasadena, where she served as Vice President, Membership Chair, and Social Activity Chair.

A long-time Pasadena resident, Dotty Ewing enjoys spending time with her husband of 53 years, their two kittens, and her nearby family, which includes a son, daughter-in-law, and three granddaughters. She also enjoys cooking, entertaining, traveling, and visiting family in Italy and Slovakia.

The 61st Pasadena Showcase House of Design will be open from April 19 – May 17, 2026, with golden tickets going on sale in mid-November and timed entry tickets available in early February.
