Current Library Director Cathy Billings shared on LinkedIn that she will transition into the role of Assistant Director. “South Pasadena is hiring a new library director! I will be stepping into the role of assistant director,” Billings wrote. “I’m excited about this big change for the organization and about all we can accomplish with both a director and an assistant director—which we haven’t had since 2019!”
According to the city’s announcement, the new Library Director will help “shape its strategic vision and expand access to information, learning, and cultural enrichment for a highly engaged and diverse population.”
Incorporated in 1888, South Pasadena is a city of about 26,000 residents in the West San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County. It is known for its small-town atmosphere, active community involvement, and historic character.
