The City of Pasadena dropped charges against three Pasadena Hilton workers, previously cited for violating the city noise ordinance while protesting for just wages.

On May 20th, the Pasadena City Council chambers overflowed with UNITE HERE Local 11 members demanding that the city noise ordinance, be repealed or amended and that the charges against Hilton workers be dropped.
On June 7, the City released the following statement:
With the City Council announcing at its May 20, 2024 meeting that it would revisit the noise ordinance, with the Hilton Hotel notifying the City Attorney/City Prosecutor’s Office that it no longer sought prosecution, and with the labor dispute settled such that the nearby residents would no longer be disproportionately impacted by the noise, the City Attorney/City Prosecutor’s Office decided that there was limited utility in pursuing the charges further and therefore dismissed the case against all three defendants in the interests of justice on June 3, 2024.
In addition, the City Attorney/City Prosecutor’s Office advised the defense that citations issued subsequently at the Hilton Hotel in April 2024 based on similar circumstances would not be filed as criminal charges.”
