A seasoned nonprofit leader, Ramon brings deep expertise in strategic planning, team building, and animal welfare operations. His leadership style, described as collaborative and transparent, aligns closely with Pasadena Humane’s mission to provide compassion and care for animals and their communities.
“I’m honored to serve as President & CEO of Pasadena Humane, alongside such a talented and passionate team,” said Ramon. “I believe deeply in our mission and look forward to working with our staff, volunteers, and community to build a brighter future for animals and the people who love them.”
Raised in nearby La Cañada, Ramon’s connection to Pasadena Humane began as a high school volunteer. He later built a career in animal welfare, including leadership roles at Michelson Found Animals and board service with several national animal organizations. Since joining Pasadena Humane in 2018, Ramon has held key leadership roles such as Vice President and Chief Programs Officer, where he championed innovation and community partnerships.
As Interim CEO, Ramon led Pasadena Humane through the devastating Eaton Fire disaster, mobilizing the organization to rescue and assist more than 1,500 animals, many of whom suffered severe burns. His leadership during the crisis was widely praised for its urgency and impact.
“Chris’ deep roots in the community, proven leadership, and passion for animal welfare make him the ideal choice to guide Pasadena Humane into its next chapter,” said Board Chair Eric Heer.
Founded in 1903, Pasadena Humane has served as a cornerstone of animal welfare in the Greater Los Angeles Area for over 120 years. Under Ramon’s leadership, the organization aims to continue expanding its services and driving innovation to support animals and their human companions alike.
