Caltech startup team ETC Solar took the top $50,000 prize at the FLOW DOE’s Cleantech UP 2018 Business Plan Competition.
The recognition was for pioneering a novel solar cell architecture and companion drop-in manufacturing tool that could transform fast growing segments of the solar cell marketplace.
ETC Solar also placed tops in a track sponsored by the Department of Defense track seeking energy efficient technologies for field operations. ETC Solar will also participate in the DOE’s National CUP Competition in Houston on June 26-27, 2018 where it will also compete for the $35,000 DOD prize.
FLOW, part of the DOE’s National Cleantech University Prize (CUP) business plan competition, is a program that supports emerging cleantech companies from conception to working with customers, through its Rocket Fund grant program. FLOW has helped launch over 20 companies that went on to raise over $80 million in funding from investors, government grants and customer contracts.
