INSIDE OUR SCHOOLS
On Saturday, April 8, Caltech and Polytechnic School hosted the 38th annual Southern California Science Olympiad State Tournament, a team science competition for middle and high school students.

The tournament drew over 2,000 students, teachers, parents, and volunteers from across Southern California to campus. Student teams competed in 23 science-related events including engineering challenges, chemistry labs, and tests in various STEM fields.
Members of the Caltech and local community were invited to watch the tournament in person on Saturday. Caltech, Polytechnic School, California Blvd., and the surrounding areas experienced increased activity and foot traffic throughout the day. This year marked the eighth year Caltech has hosted the Science Olympiad, bringing together local students passionate about science and the Caltech community.
