Peggy Hale Bilbro
right here
in this sheltered dell
I will plant a tree
the width
of my love
Peggy Hale Bilbro is a retired Spanish teacher living in Alabama. She has written poetry for many years, finding inspiration in everything from the cosmos, to family, to a fallen leaf.

Alex Nodopaka
I love the silent drumming of
Lala Dee Boomboo Tralala.
Its decibel level echoes silently
off my tympanic membrane.
Only my right one.
Just thinking aloud, mind you!
And in my left ear I hear
the thump of a crashing
just planted memoriam tree.
Alex Nodopaka was born but is not yet departed. He says “My car and I had the thrill to drive through the Wawona Tree in Yosemite Valley eons ago, [now a memorial location for the historical redwood]. It was a virginal experience for both of us, especially for my 1957 Ford Fairlane azul blue convertible with white vinyl upholstery & white wall tires & gold plated chrome trims”.

i planted the seeds
watered and pulled weeds
and waited
then i stopped waiting
and blossomed

Thank you Alexandre and Susan!
Peggy,
You’ve spread here a beautiful blood deep metaphor.
Roy,
And what a blossom you are!
Ron,
Funny how old bridges stay young!
