Her Open Hand: Presentation by Lorinda Hawkins Smith.
By News Desk
Biddy Mason is a major part of the history of medicine in California, one of the pioneers of Los Angeles, and with her wealth managed to be a blessing for all. Through Mason’s open hand flows one of the largest and oldest Black churches in Los Angeles, the Pentecostal movement, and downtown L.A.’s financial district.
This presentation is led by Lorinda Hawkins Smith, an accomplished actor, author, advocate, musician, writer, comedian, playwright, and filmmaker. She is a domestic violence survivor who earned her MBA while transitioning from houseless to housed. A true “artivist,” she is at home combining art and social justice.
