Come and enjoy summer sounds with local artists, food trucks, vendors, crafts, and more at the Arboretum.

The event is open to everyone, but Arboretum members get in for free. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and umbrellas to enjoy a picnic dinner while listening to music on the Bauer Lawn. The Peacock Cafe will be serving hot grilled items, salads, sandwiches, and wraps to satisfy your taste buds. Food trucks will also be available.

The Peacock Bar is back by popular demand, offering specialty drinks such as Sapphire Peacock, Plumeria Passion, and Micheladas. Happy Hour is from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, and Arboretum members can save $2 on their drinks. The event runs from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with music starting at 6:00 pm.

The Jazz Cartel is a jazz group reminiscent of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, and is based out of San Gabriel, CA. The group is led by guitarist/singer Curtis Parry with Jonathan “FiZzO” Frias on upright bass and Shaun Valentine on drums. The Jazz Cartel specializes in jazz from The Sinatra era, as well as original music written by Curtis Parry. • August 16: Susie Hansen Latin Quartet
Electric violinist Susie Hansen plays fiery Latin jazz and salsa, creating music that brings audiences to their feet dancing in the aisles. Susie and her Los Angeles-based band have been acclaimed by many critics, such as Phil Elwood from the San Francisco Examiner who described them this way: “It’s a sizzling, swinging Salsa band. Hansen can solo as if her bow was afire. The whole room was jumpin’ for joy.”
      • August 30: Janet Klein & Her Parlor Boys
Janet Klein is an effervescent chanteuse, musical archaeologist, and bandleader who has spent over 30 years searching for rare tunes of the 1910s, 20s, and 30s. Together with her band, the Parlor Boys, she performs this unique material with passion and authenticity, entertaining audiences at historic theaters and landmark venues across the United States. The band also tours internationally and has recorded 10 CDs. Janet is also known for her voice-over work in animation and vintage-style graphic work.
