Supervisor Barger Calls on Pasadena Community to Help Identify Suspect Leaving Harmful Foods for Dogs along Foothill Blvd.
By News Desk
Supervisor Kathryn Barger is calling upon anyone who lives or works by Foothill Boulevard in Pasadena to be vigilant and help identify an individual who is leaving grapes and chocolates alongside rice or noodles on public walkways to entice dogs to eat them.
The individual can be seen in this video, crossing the walkway and crouching by a dirt patch on the corner of a popular dog daycare and boarding site named Dogtopia of East Pasadena.
“I am outraged that someone is going out of their way to hurt dogs who are just enjoying a trot down Foothill Boulevard ,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “This person needs to be immediately identified and stopped. Animal cruelty should never be tolerated. This is just plain wrong.”
According to Ms. Jacks Vasquez, General Manager of Dogtopia of East Pasadena, the individual caught on video by her business’ surveillance camera has been targeting Foothill Boulevard for several months now. The individual leaves clusters of grapes and chocolate M&M on sidewalks along Foothill Boulevard between Sierra Madre and Rosemead Boulevards.
Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris commented “Reports can be directed to the Pasadena Police Department and they will be investigated to the full extent. Any actual and reported cruelty to animals will be taken very seriously and with assertive enforcement.”
