The spirit of community and resilience was on full display Saturday morning as Altadena residents, first responders, and local organizations came together for a unique show of strength: pulling a 50,000-pound sheriff’s department transportation bus, all for a good cause.

The Bus Pull Fundraiser, hosted by the Altadena Sheriff’s Station, Temple Sheriff’s Station, and the Temple Station Sheriff’s Outreach Foundation, brought together dozens of teams to raise funds for survivors of the recent Eaton Fire, which left a lasting impact on local families and neighborhoods.
A total of 20 five-member teams competed to pull a massive LASD bus 30 feet, each team straining against the weight in a powerful display of unity and determination. Every foot gained represented community effort and much-needed dollars raised to support those affected by the fire.
The event kicked off at 8:00 am with registration at First City Credit Union, located at 500 W. Woodbury Rd. By 9:00 am, teams were lined up and ready to pull for a purpose.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go in part directly to Altadena Eaton Fire survivors, offering critical support as they recover and rebuild from the devastating blaze.
“Heal and rebuild through powerful community connection” was the theme of the day, and judging by the energy, teamwork, and heart on display, Altadena proved that when a community pulls together, anything is possible.
