The City of Alhambra is developing a Comprehensive Environmental Sustainability Plan that analyzes factors impacting our environment, and identifies projects and programs to enhance the sustainability of Alhambra for generations to come.

Residents and community members are encouraged to provide their input throughout the process by attending “Sustainable Alhambra” pop-up events and meetings.
“Sustainability continues to be a priority in Alhambra and we urge community members to actively engage in shaping the plan by sharing ideas and insights,” said Mayor Ross J. Maza. “Together, we can foster a greener, more resilient future for our community.

5-6 stories don’t really qualify as high rises. The state requires all cities to allow for much more housing. They either have to go higher in already dense areas or go denser in low density residential neighborhoods.
Higher density and taller housing in already dense areas are much more environmentally sustainable than single family housing or duplexes, which are much more resource intensive.
Thank you for being realistic about the sustainability impacts of building denser in built-out cities like Alhambra. I see so much SFR homeowner privilege in comments and Facebook groups, voices like these get drowned out. I’m a Alhambra resident and want denser, sustainable development.
Stop building high rise condos! The infrastructure cannot handle this many people.
