PHOTO REFLECTIONS

A Moment of Beauty (Photo – Reg Green)
The front range of the San Gabriels is decorated with a greater profusion of yuccas in bloom than anyone I know can remember.
They are dazzling white against the background of deep green and brown, brave new life springing out of the settled ways of old age.
Alas, it’s only one of nature’s cruel pranks.
Soon each of these shining beacons will shed its leaves and become the most ancient-looking plant on the hillside. Seeing a life with such a fleeting moment of beauty it’s hard to resist saying to them as you pass: “Have a nice day.”
