9/11 Remembrance and Tribute Ceremony in San Gabriel

The San Gabriel Fire Department (SGFD) will hold a 9/11 Remembrance and Tribute Ceremony on Wednesday, September 11 to honor the courage and sacrifices of first responders and to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Community members are invited to join the SGFD and observe the following:

• 6:40 am – San Gabriel firefighters and police officers begin the ceremony
• 6:50 am – Firefighters will raise and lower the flag to half-staff
• 6:59 am – A tribute will be announced over the radio by Verdugo Fire Communications. A moment of silence will be observed at the fire station along with the other 43 Verdugo fire stations.
• 7:02 am – Ringing of final bells

On the front lawn of the fire station, mini flags with each fallen responder’s name will be displayed. Following the ceremony, breakfast refreshments will be served.
