So you have a special occasion coming up and you want to be Eco-friendly while trying not to spend a lot of money.

Follow these easy tips on making your own sustainable centerpieces and feel good about yourself while being good for the environment:
1- Flowers
Chose flowers that are in season and locally grown. If you use jars, you can make an arrangement of three (or 5) jars of various sizes together with the same type of flower.
2- Simple
Aim for simplicity. An elaborate centerpiece is not the best option if you can’t see people over across the table and/or block the view of the dance floor.
3- Shared Values
Choose things that reflect your values. Things that are shared and loved by the couple are always guaranteed to be a hit.
4- Glass Jars/Cans
Instead of vases, why not use glass jars from pasta sauces, milk or juice bottles, etc. Also you can re-use cans as long as the label looks exotic or foreign. Friends and family members can help add to your collection for the special occasion, and best thing is at the end of the night you can recycle the lot.
5- Citrus
Add a citrus (orange or lemon) to the bottom of the vase; it will look chic.
