
It will be colder in Pasadena than the Winter Classics in Washington D.C.
How cold was it last night? The weather service tweeted that it had received reports of snow falling down to 1,700 feet near La Crescenta, a neighbor city to Pasadena.
Snow fell on areas as low as 1,000 feet, in communities such as Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar and Temescal Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
New Year’s Eve and Day
A chilly night is forecast for New Year’s night with temperatures in the low 30’s. The temperature will be around 32 degrees at 7 a.m., then it will gradually get warmer to mid 50’s around noon.
Float decorators are working against the clock to finish the floats. It might be the coldest night of the year, so dress up in layers and have some warm fluids handy.
Overnight camping
For overnight camping on the famous Colorado Boulevard, it is wise to bring a warm jacket, heavy blankets…and a pillow.
Day of the parade
- Wear comfortable shoes.
- Bring a seat cushion.
- Wear layers, it will be chilly when the parade starts, and it will gradually warm up.
- Bring coffee or tea, water and snacks.
