Because the economy is slightly recovering, local hotel operators are pumping up Valentine prices.

Hotel Bel_Air is offering a butler at your side for just $1,500. The InterContinental Los Angeles Century City at Beverly Hills is offering a six-course dinner on the hotel’s rooftop, breakfast in bed at their presidential suite, a day spa and a helicopter tour around the city for $11,000.

But the most outrageous and over the top offer goes to the Langham Huntington, Pasadena. For their $100,000 Ultimate Proposal package you will get:

      • The entire Rose Bowl Stadium, including the use of the Rose Bowl stadium’s video message board which would illuminate with “Marry Me”.
      • The opportunity to pop the question directly on the field comes with a live serenaded by the 40-piece Pasadena Symphony Orchestra.
      • A photographer and a videographer to document the entire engagement experience.
      • A $35, 000 handcrafted 2.5-carat diamond ring.
      • Chauffeur servuces in a Bentley between the Rose Bowl Stadium and The Langham Huntington.
      • A two-night stay in their 3,200-square-foot Tournament of Roses Presidential Suite. In-suite VIP amenities includes:
      1. A bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal Rose Brut Millesime Champagne.
      2. 100 long-stemmed roses.
      3. Chocolate-covered strawberries.
      4. A pair of monogrammed Langham bathrobes
      5. And fresh rose petals sprinkled throughout the suite.
      • A romantic four-course dining experience with wine pairings provided by their own Royce Wood-Fired Steakhouse, presented either in-room or in the restaurant’s exclusive Red Wine Room.
      • Daily breakfast- for two in-room or at The Terrace.
      • A dedicated Langham Engagement Coordinator to assist in planning everything from the gala marriage proposal to the entire romantic getaway, from start to finish.

The Business Journal quoted Kathy Van Vechten, Langham director of marketing and sales, as saying:

The idea was a bit tongue in cheek and fun. The pickup on the package [by social media] has been tremendous, so it’s been a great success for us.

Colorado Boulevard Network contacted the hotel prior to publishing and confirmed that no one has bought the proposal package yet.

If someone does bite and gets to buy the over the top engagement proposal, one can only wonder what their wedding would look like.

The Huntington Langham hotel and the Rose Bowl Game (American college football) celebrate their centennial anniversary this year, while the Rose Parade fetes its 125th birthday. To mark the trio of milestones, the hotel has developed their over-the-top “Proposal of the Century” package. (Photo: pasadena.langhamhotels.com)
