In addition to Roger Wilkie, violinist Anna Landauer, Violist Connie Kupka, Cellist David Speltz and Oboist Leslie Reed will be performing music by Franz Schubert, Arnold Bax, and Antonin Dvorak.
A much sought after chamber musician, Mr. Wilkie was a founding member of the Angeles String Quartet, principal 2nd violin with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and concertmaster of the Long Beach Symphony.
Currently the Principal Second Violinist of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, Ana Landauer has been with the company since 2001.
Violist Connie Kupka has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra for many years. Ms. Kupka’s lifelong passion for chamber music (and orchestras) inspired her and her future husband, cellist David Speltz, to form their own ensemble, the Arriaga Quartet.
Oboist Leslie Reed joined the LA Opera Orchestra in 1996. In 2009, music director James Conlon appointed her to the principal oboe chair, a position she currently holds.
The Restoration Concerts Committee, a committee of the non-profit organization, The Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, has a goal to bring world-class music at an affordable price to the concertgoers in South Pasadena and surrounding communities.
There will be one more concert this season. On May 28th, our quartet in residence, The New Hollywood String Quartet will be returning.
