The first ever float from Union Station Homeless Services is in the Rose Parade and everyone is abuzz!
By News Desk
Whimsical and heartwarming, the 55-foot-long float is called “Bee the Solution,” and features charming beehives and larger-than-life musical bees that have been lovingly crafted from various types of grass, straw flowers, safflower, and Ti Leaf.
The float aims to inspire the public to recognize their collective power to work together and bring an end to homelessness.
Surrounding the base of the float are sculpted flowers decorated with yellow split pea, white coconut, freshly cut statice, fresh mums, and carnation petals.
Volunteers are busy bees placing 35,000 flowers onto a field of hot pink and white roses bordered by handcrafted arrangements of yellow lilies.
You can watch the float being decorated in person. Make a bee-line and bring your honey bear.
