This May, it’s time for the big dogs to shine.

Pasadena Humane presents “It’s Gonna Be Me,” an adoption promotion, where all adoption fees for dogs weighing over 40 pounds will be completely waived.
This special promotion from May 14 to 25 is aimed at helping its lovable large breed dogs find forever homes. Big dogs are often passed over in shelters, and according to officials, they currently comprise the bulk of Pasadena Humane’s adoptable population.
“Large-breed dogs make up the majority of animals at Pasadena Humane and in shelters throughout our region,” said Chris Ramon, Interim President & CEO of Pasadena Humane. “Unfortunately, these bigger dogs are often overlooked by potential adopters. As a result, shelters across Southern California are facing an overabundance of large dogs. If you’re thinking about adopting, now is the perfect time—there are so many wonderful dogs waiting to meet you.”
Although they may take up more space, large dogs can be great companions even in apartments or smaller homes. With proper training and regular exercise, many are calm, gentle, and well-suited for indoor living. More active pups can also make excellent jogging or hiking partners. Come find your new best friend today—because for one lucky dog, “It’s Gonna Be Me.”
Pasadena Humane is open for adoptions daily from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, and standard screening applies. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Available pets can be viewed at pasadenahumane.org.
