For the first time ever, the legendary Mount Wilson Trail Race is stepping off the mountain and into the heart of town with the Mount Wilson Trail 5K Recovery Run, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, in downtown Sierra Madre.
Dubbed a “once-in-a-lifetime event,” the 5K Recovery Run offers runners and community members a unique chance to experience the excitement and energy of the historic trail race, no mountain climbing required. The reimagined in-town course starts and finishes at Kersting Court, turning the city center into a lively festival of fitness and fun.
Registration is open at mountwilsontrailrace.com. Entry fees are $54.25 for adults (18+) and $44.25 for youth (ages 5–17), and include a race t-shirt and goodie bag.
For the youngest runners, a FREE Kids’ Fun Run (ages 3–13) will also be held, complete with a commemorative t-shirt and ribbon to celebrate their finish.
Beyond the race, the day promises a festive atmosphere with a beer garden, photo booth, race merchandise, and community booths—making it a celebration for athletes and spectators alike.
Sierra Madre honors its deep running heritage with a fresh take on its iconic trail race, capturing the original spirit while welcoming an even broader range of participants.
